The historical origin of Army Day
In June 1933, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Central Revolutionary Military Commission suggested to the Provisional Central Government of the Chinese Soviet Republic that the Nanchang Uprising Day—August 1st, be the anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army, and commemorative activities should be held on August 1st every year. On July 11, the Provisional Central Government of the Chinese Soviet Republic issued the "Resolution on the "August 1st" Commemorative Movement, announcing that the Central Executive Committee of the Chinese Soviet Republic commemorated the founding of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army and rewarded and preferentially treated the Red Army soldiers.
On July 14, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China issued the "Book to the Red Soldiers for the "August 1st" Anti-imperialist and Anti-War Day and the Red Army Memorial Day", calling on "all Chinese workers and peasants to join the Red Army and support our victorious Red Army. Condolences to the families of our Red Army." On August 1, 1933, the Central Revolutionary Military Commission held a military parade, oath, medal and flag ceremony in Ruijin to commemorate the "August 1st" Festival.
